Black Rock, a historic seaside area of Bridgeport, Connecticut is home to some of the most beautiful homes along the Connecticut Golden Coast. St. Mary’s by the Sea is a waterfront park that offers breathtaking views of Long Island Sound perfect for a walk with loved ones, enjoy the weather, and a cool breeze. The street is lined with beautiful traditional New England homes looking out over the water.

Area Features

The Black Rock Yacht Club on 80 Grovers Avenue, offers sailing, swimming pool, tennis, & a clubhouse on the same beautiful waterfront. For those boat enthusiasts, there is also the Fayerweather Yacht Club, named in honor of Captain Fayerweather, a seafarer, who had been one of the early settlers of Black Rock.

Black Rock restaurants offer some of the best dining options in Bridgeport and Southwestern Connecticut. Some local favorite restaurants include the Harborview Market, Tasty Yolk, Fire Engine Pizza, Taco Loco, Hub and Spoke, Beverly’s Pizza House & Walrus & Carpenter for BBQ, to name a few. To learn more about restaurants in Black Rock you can visit Black Rock CT to get information.

You can always check out Captain’s Cove Seaport for some fresh fish and chips, clams, or even a lobster roll. It is also another boater’s spot where they can take your boat in and out of the water for the season, dock your boat, fuel up and even get it repaired. They are located at 1 Bostwick Ave.

The neighborhood is friendly and inviting. You will often catch folks out walking the treelined streets, often saying hello to one another. In the last few years, homes along these streets have been host to PorchFest. This event is put together by the Black Rock Community Council, and is a free music festival. It features performances by local musicians. Each performance is on a different porch in the neighborhood, thanks to many of the amazing homes hosting each band.
